Home/ Service Area/ Lake Havasu City

Mohave County · Colorado River

The hottest city we serve, and the one that punishes weak equipment.

Lake Havasu sits just over 700 feet above sea level on the Colorado River, and summer here regularly clears 115°. Systems that would coast in Prescott run flat out for months. We size and service for that reality.

Low desert is a different job than high desert.

Cooling equipment is rated at 95° outdoor temperature. Lake Havasu spends much of the summer twenty degrees past that, and capacity falls as outdoor temperature climbs. A unit that is merely adequate on paper will not keep up here on a July afternoon — which is why so much of what we replace in Havasu is equipment that was correctly sized for somewhere else.

The river adds a wrinkle most desert towns do not have. Humidity near the water climbs during monsoon season, and an oversized system makes that worse, not better. Oversized units satisfy the thermostat fast, shut off before they have pulled moisture out of the air, and leave the house cold and clammy. Right-sizing matters more here than almost anywhere else we work.

Havasu also has a large seasonal population, and empty houses are hard on HVAC. A system that sat unused from May through October comes back to a dusty coil, a dry condensate trap, and sometimes a rodent-chewed wire. If you are a snowbird, book a startup check before you arrive, not after you land and discover there is no cooling.

Vacation rentals get the same advice with more urgency. A failed AC in a rental during a July booking is a refund, a bad review, and a scramble. We keep maintenance schedules for property managers across the Havasu area for exactly that reason.

If we tell you a system is undersized, we will show you the load calculation that says so. Nobody should take a replacement quote on faith.

What Lake Havasu City calls us for

July · most common

AC Not Keeping Up

Running constantly and still 80° inside usually means undersized equipment, a dirty condenser, or low charge — not a broken unit. We measure before we quote.

We measure superheat and subcooling, check static pressure across the coil, and read the temperature split at the register. Those three numbers tell us whether it is charge, airflow, or capacity — and they are three very different bills.

Snowbird season

Seasonal Startup & Shutdown

Coil clean, condensate check, refrigerant verification, and a full function test before you arrive. Shutdown service before you head north.

Startup: coil clean, condensate trap primed, refrigerant verified, full function test before you arrive. Shutdown: cleaned, sealed against dust and wildlife, and set for the months nobody is watching it.

Vacation Rental Maintenance

Scheduled service on rental properties so a booked guest never calls you about the AC. Priority response during peak season.

Scheduled service on rental properties plus priority response during peak season, so a booked guest never becomes the reason you find out the AC failed.

Right-sizing

System Replacement

Trane equipment sized on a real Manual J load calculation for a 115° design day, not a rule of thumb. Three tiers, priced side by side.

A Manual J load calculation on your actual house — square footage, insulation, window orientation, and elevation. You get three tiers priced side by side with the efficiency difference spelled out in operating cost, not just SEER numbers.

Humidity & dust

Indoor Air Quality

Filtration upgrades and duct sealing. River humidity and desert dust both arrive through the return.

Filtration upgrades sized to your blower so you do not choke airflow, duct sealing at the joints where most leakage happens, and air purification where it earns its keep. We will tell you which of the three your house actually needs.

Evaporative & Swamp Coolers

Service, repair, and full replacement across Lake Havasu City. Pads, pumps, float valves, motors, and belts — and straight advice on when a cooler still beats refrigerated air.

Seasonal start-up and shutdown, pad and pump replacement, float and water-line repair, motor and bearing work, and complete unit replacement on roof-mount and side-draft installations, including manufactured homes. When monsoon humidity has a cooler no longer keeping up, we will quote a refrigerated conversion alongside the repair so you can compare both numbers.

Repair it or replace it?

The honest answer depends on three numbers. Put yours in and see where you land — then call us and we'll tell you whether we agree.

This is a rule of thumb, not a diagnosis. A well-maintained system can outlive the math and a neglected one can fall short of it. Ask us to look before you decide.

Straight pricing, before we start

A residential diagnostic visit is $178 — that covers the $99 dispatch fee and the $79 diagnostic, and the diagnostic comes off your bill when you approve the repair. Commercial diagnostics are $155 with a one-hour minimum. You get the number before anyone opens a panel. We install Trane, quoted in three tiers side by side.

Lake Havasu City questions we get asked

Do you service evaporative (swamp) coolers in Lake Havasu City?
Yes — we service, repair, and install them. Pads, pumps, floats, motors, belts, and water lines, plus complete replacements on roof-mount and side-draft units and on manufactured homes. If yours has stopped keeping up in monsoon humidity, we will price a refrigerated conversion next to the repair so you can decide with both numbers in front of you.
How fast can you get to Lake Havasu City?
We run out of our Kingman shop and cover Havasu daily. Call (928) 565-6440 and we will give you an honest window on the phone rather than a promise we cannot keep. Emergency calls are answered around the clock Monday through Saturday.
My AC runs all day and the house still is not cool. Is it broken?
Often not. In 115° heat a correctly working system can run continuously and still lose ground if it is undersized, low on refrigerant, or the condenser coil is packed with dust. Those are three different fixes at three different prices, which is why we measure before quoting.
I am a snowbird. What should I do before I come back?
Book a startup check for the week before you arrive. We clean the coil, check the charge, clear the condensate line, and run the system through a full cycle so you are not discovering a problem on a July afternoon with luggage in the driveway.
Do you service vacation rentals?
Yes, and we schedule maintenance for property managers so failures happen on a service visit rather than during a booking. Ask about a maintenance agreement if you manage more than one property.
What does a service call cost?
A residential diagnostic visit is $178, covering the $99 dispatch fee and the $79 diagnostic. The $79 comes off your bill when you approve the repair. Commercial diagnostics are $155 with a one-hour minimum.
