We're not driving in from Phoenix. We live here.

Air-Exx is based at 3685 Hualapai Mountain Road. When a Kingman system quits in July, you're not waiting on someone routing up from the valley — our trucks start their day in this town.

What a Kingman summer actually does to a system.

Manufacturers rate cooling equipment at 95° outdoor temperature. Kingman spends a good part of July and August well past that. Every degree above the rating pushes head pressure up, drops capacity, and makes the compressor work harder for less cold air — which is why a unit that limped through last summer often doesn't survive this one.

Dust is the other half of the story, and it's the half people ignore. Condenser coils out here pack with fine desert grit that acts like insulation on the exact surface that's supposed to shed heat. A coil that looks only mildly dirty can cost a serious slice of efficiency, and the unit runs hotter to compensate. Cleaning it is unglamorous and it's the single cheapest thing you can do for an Arizona AC.

Then there's monsoon season. July and August bring hard storms and the power flickers that come with them, and those surges are rough on capacitors, contactors, and control boards. If your system quit right after a storm, that's the first place we look.

Kingman also sits higher than most people realize. At 3,300 feet, and climbing fast as you head up toward Hualapai Mountain, winter nights genuinely drop below freezing. Heating here is not an afterthought — we size for both seasons, not just the one that hurts most.

I want to give a big thank you to Jay and Juan for coming out to fix my AC. They were professional, friendly, and took the time to go over all of my options with me. I really appreciated their honesty, and making sure I understood everything before moving forward.

AC Not Cooling

Capacitor, contactor, low refrigerant, or a condenser coil packed with dust. We diagnose it, show you the reading, and quote before we touch anything.

We measure superheat and subcooling, check static pressure, and read the temperature split. Those numbers separate a charge problem from an airflow problem from a failing compressor.

System Replacement

Trane equipment sized to your house on a real load calculation. Three tiers priced side by side so you can see what the money buys.

A Manual J load calculation on your actual house — square footage, insulation, window orientation, and elevation. You get three tiers priced side by side with the efficiency difference spelled out in operating cost, not just SEER numbers.

Twice a year

Maintenance Plans

Spring coil clean and refrigerant check, fall heat check. This is the visit that keeps you off the emergency list in August.

Two visits a year with a written condition report each time, plus priority scheduling in peak season. The point is that failures get caught on a planned visit instead of a July afternoon.

Hard water country

Water Heaters

Mohave County water is hard on tanks — sediment shortens their life. Tank and tankless, repair and replacement, same license, one call.

Tank and tankless, repair and replacement. We check the anode rod, flush sediment, and test the T&P valve — and on hard Mohave County water we will tell you honestly how much life is left.

Dust control

Indoor Air Quality

Air purification, better filtration, and duct sealing. Most of the dust in a Kingman house arrives through leaky returns, not the front door.

Filtration upgrades sized to your blower so you do not choke airflow, duct sealing at the joints where most leakage happens, and air purification where it earns its keep. We will tell you which of the three your house actually needs.

Evaporative & Swamp Coolers

Service, repair, and full replacement across Kingman. Pads, pumps, float valves, motors, and belts — and straight advice on when a cooler still beats refrigerated air.

Seasonal start-up and shutdown, pad and pump replacement, float and water-line repair, motor and bearing work, and complete unit replacement on roof-mount and side-draft installations, including manufactured homes. When monsoon humidity has a cooler no longer keeping up, we will quote a refrigerated conversion alongside the repair so you can compare both numbers.

A residential diagnostic visit is $178 — that covers the $99 dispatch fee and the $79 diagnostic, and the diagnostic comes off your bill when you approve the repair. Commercial diagnostics are $155 with a one-hour minimum. You get the number up front — no trip-charge surprises.

Kingman questions we get asked

Do you service evaporative (swamp) coolers in Kingman?
Yes — we service, repair, and install them. Pads, pumps, floats, motors, belts, and water lines, plus complete replacements on roof-mount and side-draft units and on manufactured homes. If yours has stopped keeping up in monsoon humidity, we will price a refrigerated conversion next to the repair so you can decide with both numbers in front of you.
What does a service call cost in Kingman?
A residential diagnostic visit is $178, which covers the $99 dispatch fee and the $79 diagnostic. The $79 portion comes off your bill when you approve the repair. Commercial diagnostics are $155 with a one-hour minimum. You get the number before anyone opens a panel.
How fast can you get to me in Kingman?
Kingman is where our shop is, so it is our shortest drive. Call (928) 565-6440 and we will give you a real window rather than a guess. We answer around the clock Monday through Saturday; we are closed Sundays.
My AC runs but the house will not cool below 80. What is wrong?
In a Kingman July that is often a system that is undersized or low on charge, but it can also be a failing capacitor, a dirty condenser coil, or duct losses in a hot attic. We measure before we quote, and we will show you the reading.
How long should an air conditioner last here?
Less than the brochure says. Kingman heat and dust are hard on equipment, and 12 to 15 years is a realistic life for a system that has been maintained. Past that, ask for a replacement quote alongside the repair and compare both numbers.
Do you install Trane?
Yes. We install Trane and quote replacements in three tiers side by side so the tradeoff between price and performance is visible before you choose.
