Arizona winters are short. They are not mild.

Kingman sees freezing mornings most winters, and up the hill in Prescott, Prescott Valley, Chino Valley and Seligman, winter is a real season with snow on the roof. A heating system that sat idle from April to November gets asked to work hard overnight, and that first cold week is when igniters, flame sensors, inducer motors and defrost boards show their age.

We work on gas and propane furnaces, heat pumps, package units, and ductless mini-splits — in houses, manufactured homes, casitas and shops. Higher-elevation homes get the gas valve and orifice checked against the manufacturer’s altitude derate, because a furnace set up for sea level does not burn right at 5,000 feet.

A residential diagnostic visit is $178 — the $99 dispatch fee plus the $79 diagnostic, and the $79 comes off your bill when you approve the repair. You know that number on the phone, and you get the repair price before we start.

Smell gas? Get everyone out of the house first. Don’t flip light switches or start the car in the garage. From outside, call 911 or your gas company. Once you’re safe, call us.

Safety first, repair second

What we fix

Most common

Gas & Propane Furnaces

Clicks but won’t light, lights then shuts off, blows cold air, or runs constantly. We test it and show you the reading.

Hot surface igniters, flame sensors, inducer motors, pressure and high-limit switches, gas valves, control boards, blower motors and capacitors — plus a heat exchanger inspection, because a cracked one is a carbon monoxide problem, not a comfort problem.

Winter

Heat Pumps

Iced over, blowing lukewarm air, or your electric bill jumped and the house isn’t any warmer.

Defrost boards and sensors, reversing valves, refrigerant charge, outdoor fan motors, and auxiliary strip heat. If the system is leaning on strip heat all night, we find out why.

Common here

Package Units & Manufactured Homes

Gas-pack and heat-pump package units on slabs and roofs, and the downflow furnaces in manufactured homes.

Manufactured-home furnaces, belly and crossover ducts, and rooftop or slab package units. Plenty of contractors would rather not deal with them. We do.

Quick wins

Thermostats & Controls

Some no-heat calls are a thermostat, a wiring fault or a tripped safety — and we’ll tell you when it’s that simple.

Thermostat wiring, heat-pump staging and aux-heat settings, transformers, fuses and float switches. A safety switch that keeps tripping is a symptom; we find the cause instead of resetting it and leaving.

Cold rooms

Ductwork & Airflow

One room is always cold, or the heat runs and runs. Often it’s the ducts, not the furnace.

We check static pressure and inspect accessible runs in attics and under manufactured homes for disconnects, crushes and leaks.

Ductless

Mini-Splits in Heat Mode

Garages, casitas and additions that never stay warm in winter.

Single- and multi-zone mini-splits: defrost, sensors, boards and charge, set up so they actually heat in a cold snap.

When repair stops making sense

Most heating calls end in a repair, and we’d rather keep a good system running than sell you a new one. But if your furnace or heat pump is past 15 years, has needed a repair every winter, or has a cracked heat exchanger, we’ll price a replacement next to the repair so you can compare both numbers. See furnace and heat pump replacement.

Beat the first cold snap

A fall heat check catches the weak igniter and the failing capacitor before the coldest night of the year does. See our maintenance plans.

What customers say

★★★★★
Ryan was professional and very friendly. He fixed my heating issues quickly instead of taking his time so he could overcharge me. Ryan walked me through the process and gave me the cost before doing the work so I would know up front. I will definitely use him again

This is a Veteran Owned company that takes very good care of their clients. Mike was thorough inspecting our furnace and ducting. He had before and after pictures of his work to show us what was done. He answered ALL of our questions and gave us peace of mind.

Questions we get asked

What does a heating repair visit cost?
A residential diagnostic visit is $178, which covers the $99 dispatch fee and the $79 diagnostic. The $79 comes off your bill when you approve the repair. You get the repair price before we start.
My furnace clicks and tries to light, then shuts off. What is wrong?
Often a dirty flame sensor or a weak igniter. Sometimes it is a safety switch doing its job — a pressure switch or high limit — because something upstream is wrong, like a blocked flue, a failing inducer motor or a clogged filter. That is why we find the cause instead of just resetting it.
My heat pump is covered in ice. Is it broken?
A light frost that clears every so often is normal — that is the defrost cycle working. Solid ice that does not clear points to a defrost board or sensor, low refrigerant, or an airflow problem. Switch the thermostat to emergency heat if you have it and call us.
Why did my electric bill jump this winter?
Usually because the heat pump is leaning on its electric backup heat strips. That happens when the system is undersized, low on refrigerant, stuck in defrost, or when the thermostat calls for backup heat too early. It is diagnosable, and often fixable without replacing anything.
Do you work on propane furnaces and manufactured homes?
Yes, both, and often. Propane furnaces are common in Golden Valley, Chino Valley and the rural parts of both counties, and manufactured-home furnaces and package units are a big share of our heating work.
Do you come out after hours for no heat?
We answer around the clock Monday through Saturday and are closed Sundays. A real person answers — never a recording — and gets our on-call technician moving. For the outlying towns and the Prescott side of Yavapai County, we will give you an honest arrival window rather than a promise we cannot keep.
