Mohave County · River Corridor

Newer homes, builder-grade equipment, and a river-valley summer.

Fort Mohave grew fast and grew recently. That means a lot of houses here went up with the cheapest system that met code — and those are the ones failing first in a valley that runs past 115°.

The builder picked your system. You are living with the consequences.

In a fast-growing subdivision, HVAC is a line item. Builders buy to a price, and a base-model unit sized to the minimum will pass inspection in November and then struggle through its first real July. In Fort Mohave that first July arrives at 115°.

What we see most: units that were never oversized enough for a west-facing house with a big glass wall, ducts run through an uninsulated attic where they lose cooling before the air ever reaches a register, and thermostats placed on an interior wall that reads nothing like what the far bedroom feels.

The good news is that most Fort Mohave homes are new enough that the ductwork is intact and the fix is straightforward. You usually do not need to replace everything. A load calculation tells us whether it is a sizing problem, a duct problem, or a charge problem, and those are three very different bills.

A second opinion costs you one diagnostic. Replacing a system you did not need to replace costs considerably more.

What Fort Mohave calls us for

July · most common

AC Not Keeping Up

Undersized builder equipment, attic duct loss, or low charge. We measure all three before quoting anything.

We measure superheat and subcooling, check static pressure across the coil, and read the temperature split at the register. Those three numbers tell us whether it is charge, airflow, or capacity — and they are three very different bills.

Duct Sealing & Insulation

Attic ducts in this climate lose cooling fast. Sealing them is cheaper than a new system and sometimes solves the whole complaint.

Attic ducts in this climate lose cooling before it ever reaches a register. We test, seal at the joints, and insulate — frequently cheaper than the system replacement someone else quoted.

Right-sizing

System Replacement

Trane equipment sized on a real load calculation for your house and orientation — not the builder's spreadsheet.

A Manual J load calculation on your actual house — square footage, insulation, window orientation, and elevation. You get three tiers priced side by side with the efficiency difference spelled out in operating cost, not just SEER numbers.

Evaporative & Swamp Coolers

Service, repair, and full replacement across Fort Mohave. Pads, pumps, float valves, motors, and belts — and straight advice on when a cooler still beats refrigerated air.

Seasonal start-up and shutdown, pad and pump replacement, float and water-line repair, motor and bearing work, and complete unit replacement on roof-mount and side-draft installations, including manufactured homes. When monsoon humidity has a cooler no longer keeping up, we will quote a refrigerated conversion alongside the repair so you can compare both numbers.

Twice yearly

Maintenance Plans

Spring coil clean and charge check, fall heat check. Keeps a builder-grade unit alive years longer than it would manage alone.

Two visits a year with a written condition report each time, plus priority scheduling in peak season. The point is that failures get caught on a planned visit instead of a July afternoon.

Straight pricing, before we start

A residential diagnostic visit is $178 — that covers the $99 dispatch fee and the $79 diagnostic, and the diagnostic comes off your bill when you approve the repair. Commercial diagnostics are $155 with a one-hour minimum. You get the number before anyone opens a panel. We install Trane, quoted in three tiers side by side.

Fort Mohave questions we get asked

Do you service evaporative (swamp) coolers in Fort Mohave?
Yes — we service, repair, and install them. Pads, pumps, floats, motors, belts, and water lines, plus complete replacements on roof-mount and side-draft units and on manufactured homes. If yours has stopped keeping up in monsoon humidity, we will price a refrigerated conversion next to the repair so you can decide with both numbers in front of you.
My house is only a few years old. Why is the AC struggling already?
Age is not the issue — sizing and ductwork usually are. Builder-grade equipment is chosen to a budget, and a unit that is adequate on a mild day can fall behind on a 115° one. It is worth measuring before assuming the unit is defective.
Do you cover Fort Mohave from Kingman?
Yes, daily. Fort Mohave, Bullhead City, and Mohave Valley are all in our regular service rotation. Call (928) 565-6440 for a real window.
One room never gets cold. Is that fixable?
Almost always, and usually without a new system. It is typically a duct run that is undersized, leaking, or crushed in the attic. We can test airflow at the register and tell you which.
What does a service call cost?
A residential diagnostic visit is $178, which covers the $99 dispatch fee and the $79 diagnostic. The $79 portion comes off your bill when you approve the repair. Commercial diagnostics are $155 with a one-hour minimum.
